Climate targets commit us to limit global temperature increases to 1.5 degrees and a critical maximum of 2 degrees
SCALE OF REDUCTIONS
To achieve this goal, global emissions will need to be reduced by 23 Gigatons, which requires changes in all sectors from aviation to agriculture. Deforestation and land degradation results in 20% of global emissions and can be reversed.
OPPORTUNITY
Nature Based Solutions (NBS) including forestry, marine and agriculture have a key role to play in the next decade creating a market opportunity of up to $30bn by 2030. Credits market will pass $1bn in 2021 with largest contribution from NBS.
